Tired!

I stayed up 'til 6am this morning watching the Oscars, but it was worth it! I think Anne Hathaway and James Franco did a good job hosting last night!
Last night, I changed to go out! I wore H&M skinny jeans, a Truely Madly Deeply vest, a Forever 21 cardigan and New Look suede mocassin boots! I carried my Balenciaga Part Time Bag :)

Today I am wearing A Topshop crop tee, Current Elliott jeans, a New Look skinny belt and my Elizabeth & James ring :)

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards 2011

I was amazed at the assortment of colours on the red carpet at the Oscars last night! It ranged from Purple to Orange to Red to Nude, Gold, Blue, Black...! Very impressive! So here are a few of my favourite dresses from the 2011 Academy Awards.

83rd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
A very pregnant and glowing Natalie Portman, who won the Oscar for Best Actress, in Rodante.
I love the colour and it is really flattering for a heavily pregnant woman! She looks amazing!

83rd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
The beautiful Jennifer Hudson glows in a gorgeous orange dress by Atelier Versace! I don't get why people are saying she is too thin.. she looks amazing, I think her figure is the perfect shape and she has never looked more radiant!

83rd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Halle Berry looked absolutely stunning in a nude Marchesa!

83rd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
Mila Kunis looked fabulous in a pastel lilac gown by Ellie Saab!

Now for a few that weren't actually at the ceremony but where taking part in Oscar festivities elsewhere!
Ashley+Tisdale in 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party - Red Carpet
Ashley Tisdale looked extremely glamorous at Elton John's bash wearing a shimmering Jenny Packham dress!

Selina Gomez looked beautiful in a Dolce & Gabanna gown at Vanity Fair!

Cameron Diaz looked very chic in Carolina Herrera!

Brighter Nights

It has come to my attention that it is almost 6pm and it is still sunny outside! When the brighter nights start coming in I can't help but get excited for summer! It was a clear day today, so after a week of rain I thought I would dress more brightly! I'm wearing a white Wildfox Mega Babe tank, light Blue H&M skinny jeans, a Next long necklace and my Elizabeth & James knuckle ring.

Please ignore the socks and slippers lol! And you can buy the Wildfox tank here!

Cupcakes :)

So yesterday I had my very first go at making cupcakes, with the help of my friend! Making the actual cakes was easy, the tricky part was the icing! We had to make it thick enough so that we could pipe it onto the cupcakes and it would stay in shape! We had several goes at this and it just wouldn't hold, it was actually gross looking! So we had to go back to the shop to get more icing sugar as we used a whole bag trying to thicken it up! Once I got it to the right consistency, I added a small amount of Vanilla and a drop of blue food colouring to turn the mixture a mint green colour. When it was perfect, I started to pipe it onto the cakes- then the piping bag tore open! Nightmare lol! So I panicked- then realised I could use a food bag attached to the nozzle instead!
Turned out pretty well considering everything that went wrong! Once the icing was on, I decorated with little silver metallic balls!

Forever 21 vs J Brand

I'm kinda in love with J Brand Houlihan Cargo pants, but seen as they are like £200, I was a little sceptical about getting them! So imagine my excitement when I was browsing Forever 21 and came across a pair of pants that are practically exact to the J Brands!! For only $24.80!! Yipeeee :D
I know they won't be as good quality, but from my past experiences with Forever 21, the quality is much better than what I expected for such a low price and judging by the pictures, they look perfect!

Thank Goodness for Forever 21, saved me £200!

Party Time :)

I didn't actually take any pictures of what I was wearing in the day time yesterday as I didn't really make an effort to dress properly, but Alex got a sneaky picture of me while I was drawing lol!
As you can see i'm wearing my slippers, and have my hair scraped into a bun, but I love the dress i'm wearing! Its just a cute little sun dress from Miss Selfridge, i'll get a better picture next time I wear it!
In the evening, I wore a H&M vest top, a Miss Selfridge bolero, J Brand skinny jeans, a New Look belt, and Zodiac boots for my little brother's birthday party :)

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. NY Fall 2011.

So i'm obsessed with the collections from the Fashion Week just gone in New York City. My favourites were Victoria Beckham's collection- I just love the glamour and sophistication in all of her peices, i'm in love with the drapery and there is so many colours in this collection as well! I'm also loving that Victoria has also moved on from just the very structured dresses that took up most of her past collections, so i'm really impressed with this one, I think Mrs Beckham has got it spot on!

I'm also in love with Jeremy Scott's collection because its just so unique and daring. He's defiantly not afraid to try new things and just goes with it! It reminds me of fancy dress in a way, its so funky and crazy! And i'm in love with the bright colours and just everything, its so different!
A model walks the runway at the Jeremy Scott Fall 2011 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Milk Studios on February 16, 2011 in New York City.

However, my favourite has to be the Alice + Olivia collection. I love the femininity, the glamour and it really reminds me of dressing up as a little girl and just throwing my mother's things on! Like this:
Except slightly less over-the-top! But you get the idea! The long necklaces, high platform shoes, little embellished dresses with fur and lots of sequins! This collection is definitely for a woman who is very glamorous and loves to dress up!
I really like the mix up between more grown up pieces like the fitted little jackets that definitely seem Chanel inspired and crazy little skirts and pants!
The colours in this collection are very bold and glamorous as well, there is a lot of gold and black!
So yeah, Alice + Olivia is my favourite collection, its very flirty and fun and very glamorous- its just fabulous!

Love is in the air!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all had a lovely day :)
Here's a summery of my day!
I was really spoilt today by Alex, who I always refer to as my boyfriend but is actually my Fiance! (We got engaged at midnight New Years Eve 2009/2010. In March, we will have been together 5 years :D)
We were supposed to spend Valentine's in Paris, like we did last year, but due to my surgery in January we didn't know if i'd be well enough so we've booked an extra long holiday in a gorgeous hotel called Grand Mediterraneo in Corfu for July :)
To make up for not going to Paris he really has pampered me!
I was awoken at about 9am to him sitting on the bed with a full English breakfast with the most beautiful rose ever! He got it from the Disney Store and it came in a long box with a Minnie Mouse Teddy bear :)

Then he presented me with roses that he actually made himself! I was stunned they are so pretty! He gave me a big chocolate heart shaped lolly from Thorntons and a box of Thorntons choccys as well!
When I opened my card I found he had written me the sweetest poem ever! And then he gave me a new DVD called 'Eat Pray Love' starring my favourite actress ever Julia Roberts!

Then he took me to the kitchen were he had a box of strawberrys and a big bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk so we could make chocolate covered strawberries!

He waited on me all day and gave me a massage, then he ordered a big Chinese take away and put cute little fairy lights up in the room for some romantic lighting ;)

After dinner we snuggled up with the strawberrys and chocolates and watched the DVD!

I have the best boyfriend in the world I think, perfect Valentine's day :)

Oh and I wore a black vest, a black high waist skirt and black waist belt with gold studs, all from H&M :)

These are a few of my favourite things...

I adore make up, getting new make up makes my life, mostly because it's just so pretty to look at with all the different colours, and I love to experiment!
I don't like over-the-top make up, I don't get girls who walk around with orange faces at all! I like to keep it kind of natural / minimal looking!

These are my favourite make up pieces!

I almost always start with Rimmel Recover Foundation in Soft Beige, its really easy to apply and doesn't go all patchy but most importantly, it looks really natural and covers any blemishes!
Next I sweep my face lightly with Benefit Bronzer (The colour in the picture above in the purple tub). It goes really well with the foundation and gives me a natural colour.
Then I either use the Benefit blusher/bronzer on my cheek bones or a Bourjois blush in Rose D'or, if i'm feeling more pink!
Next I love to use YSL amethyst eye shadow. It's a cream so you can use the brush that comes with it or your finger. I always use my finger as you can blend it better and smudge it how you want it! It looks amazing on, perfect for smoky eyes!
I use Rimmel black eye pencil on my waterline and Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Look mascara as it just refuses to clump!
For my lips, I love Bobbi Brown lip-glosses. The water-melon pink colour pictured above is my favourite as its very subtle.

Here's how I had my make up today, I don't know if this is really clear enough as I took it with my webcam, but my camera's out of battery :(
I used all of the above except the Bourjois blusher!

Another night out with friends!

I love university life, going on nights out all the time gives me the opportunity to dress up! Last night we went to a house party (It was pretty crazy!) Before heading into town to the clubs. I wore a gorgeous romper from Rebecca Taylor, Givenchy birdcage booties, an Oasis bangle, Topshop bangles, an Elizabeth & James ring, and I carried my Cole Haan Phoebe crossbody bag :)

Sunny winters day :)

Today is really sunny and it seems that its actually starting to warm up, YAY! But i'm trying not to get my hopes up too much after last years snow escapade! So I figured it was cold enough to wear my leather aviator jacket, but sunny enough to wear my new Ray Ban Cats 1000 sunglasses :D!! Win-win!
So today I am wearing an Asos leather Aviator, Ray Ban sunglasses, a H&M vest top, J Brand skinny jeans, Chinese Laundry Turbo boots, silver studs, and an Elizabeth & James ring (I actually can't take it off I loooove it! haha). I'm also using my Balenciaga Part Time bag today <3

By the way, the Asos aviator is a complete look-a-like of the Acne 'Rita' aviator jacket as seen on Vanessa Hudgens, Rihanna and Cheryl Cole- which retails for £710 here at Net-A-Porter. The one i'm wearing is on sale for £65 here! Also available in tan for £60! What a steal!!
